Listen as artist and curator, Helen Carnac discusses the ideas and themes behind the ‘Taking Time: Craft and the Slow Revolution’ exhibition (12 February to 9 April 2011). Helen will use the exhibition as a focus to talk about the contribution of contemporary craft to the philosophies presented within the slow movement. This is a worldwide school of thought, which aims to address the issue of ‘time poverty’ and encourage people to better connect with their families, food, location and life. Helen will discuss how the exhibition was developed, its associated projects, viewers’ responses to the work and how this has and will develop over the course of the exhibition’s eight-venue tour.
